Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes. 1887-1910. Documentos.
Resumen:
El investigador aborda tres documentos manuscritos, encontrados en la Biblioteca de la Escuela Superior de Música “José Ángel Lamas”. El Libro de Actas de Exámenes de la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes (1887) y dos libros de Oficios (1901-1908) y (1908-1910). Estos manuscritos muestran la fundación y desarrollo de la institución oficial de enseñanza musical en el país entre el final del siglo XIX y comienzos del XX. El autor jerarquiza y cita, datos contenidos de corte académico formativo, testimonios concertísticos que validaron y oficializaron los estudios dentro de la institución, así como también, datos de corte administrativo que permitieron el funcionamiento de la misma. La Academia formó parte de la iniciativa político cultural del gobierno del General Antonio Guzmán Blanco (1829-1899). Se demuestra que este centro de enseñanza y cultivo de las Artes, se mantuvo bien administrado durante veintitrés años. Además, se acerca al problema historiográfico que implica el descubrimiento y estudio de acervos documentales musicales en la historia de la música en nuestro país.

Abstract:
The researcher tackles three manuscripts that were found at the Escuela Superior de Música “José Ángel Lamas”: the minute book of the exams of the National Academy of Fine Arts (1887) and two office books of 1901-1908 and 1908-1910. These manuscripts show the establishment and development of the official institution of musical teaching in the country between the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. The author organizes hierarchically and cites data presented with a formative academic style, register of concerts that validated and made the studies of the institution official and likewise, administrative data that allowed the proper functioning of the institution. The National Academy took part of the political-cultural initiative of the Government of General Antonio Guzmán Blanco (1829-1899). These documents demonstrate that this center of teaching and cultivation of arts kept well administrated for twenty-three years. Moreover, this article takes a closer point of view to the historiographical problem that the discovery and study of the musical documental heritage may represent for the history of music in our country.

Teresa Carreño: cien años más tarde
Resumen:
Teresa Carreño, más que ser otra prodigio del piano, fue, gracias a su creatividad y agencia, una destacada artista cosmopolita y polifacética durante el siglo XIX y los albores del siglo XX. Su rol de concertista de piano se complementó con el de compositora, pedagoga, empresaria y cantante de ópera. Teresa Carreño desafió las convenciones de la época para construir su legado. Este escrito acopia las opiniones de estudiosos e intérpretes vinculados con su obra y vida, así como una lista actual de la producción intelectual sobre la artista con el ánimo de seguir contribuyendo a su estudio y difusión.

Abstract:
Teresa Carreño, more than being another prodigy child, was, thanks to her creativity and agency, an outstanding cosmopolitan and all-round artist during the nineteenth-century and the beginning of the twentieth-century. Her role of concert pianist was complemented with those of composer, pedagogue, opera impresario and Singer. Teresa Carreño challenged the conventions of her time in order to built her legacy. This article collects the thoughts of scholars and performers related to her work and life as well as a current list of intellectual productions about the artist with the aims of continuing the contribution to its examination and promotion.
